Used To Be Girl

I got the inspiration for this song from a woman I saw hanging around an open mic in a dark bar on Parliament street. I like to think that I am "the young thing in the corner that makes their tongues unfurl," however I can often relate to the Used To Be Girl. :-(
Used to be Girl
I used to be a looker said the girl at the bar
In my younger days I could have been a star
Wasn't I a beauty all decked out in curls
Now I'm just a used to be girl
The boys down here they like me
They always make me smile
I go to their apartments every once in a while
But that young thing in the corner
Makes their tongues unfurl
And I remember I'm a used to be girl
There's a picture in the paper of a prom queen and she smiles
She knows she's got the world by the balls
I cashed in all my pretty and all that I got
Was a lousy ex-husband and this here hot spot
Hello there good-looking I aint seen you here before
The dance floor it is shaking and there's room here for one more
So if you will forgive me for not shining like a pearl
I think I might be willing to give this thing a whirl
And I could be a used to be a used to be girl
