Same Old Thing

Hell to me is the nightmare of an endless concrete freeway lined with identical chain restaurants where we all drive in our giant identical SUV's while listening to the same cookie cutter music on the radio. Where does it lead? Nowhere. Then I wake up or do I?
The Same Old Thing
It's all been said before
It's all been done before
Still we're all looking for more
Of the same old thing
There's a million places to eat
Just like the one across the street
And all the people that I meet
They wear the same old thing
Same old lies
Telling us what to buy
Same old cheats
Who poison what we eat
Same old laws
That put money in their paws
Same bored masses
Who keep sitting on their asses
It's the same old thing
We do it to ourselves
Then we blame someone else
We think it's just a game
It's the same old thing
We'll buy our happiness
Who cares about the rest
We call this progress
It's the same old thing
Same old thing
Nothing new to me
There are people who remember
How it used to be
When we wanted to be free
Of the same old thing
